BIOS IT partners with GigaIO to deliver disaggregated infrastructure to its HPC, FinTech and Cloud customers.
Dallas, November 12th 2018. BIOS IT has partnered with GigaIO to deliver disaggregated infrastructure solutions to its HPC, FinTech and Cloud customers.
Composable/Disaggregated infrastructure (CDI) is an emerging category of infrastructure systems that make use of high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnects to aggregate compute, storage, and networking fabric resources into shared resource pools that can be available for on-demand allocation. Disaggregation and composability enables organisations to meet the demands of new data-intensive applications and dynamically assign resources to match changing workloads.
IDC projects that the disaggregated infrastructure market — which consists of appliances or platforms, software, and associated hardware, will aggressively grow at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 58.2%, reaching nearly $3.4 billion in 2022
“New IT on-premises infrastructure deployments, mostly in the form of private cloud, will fuel aggressive investments in composable/disaggregated infrastructure,” said Ashish Nadkarni, group VP for IDC’s Worldwide Infrastructure practice. “The maturity of newer low-latency and high-bandwidth fabrics and interconnects will accelerate the development of newer CDI products and solutions.”
Through its new partnership with GigaIO, BIOS IT will enable a new breed of high-performance cluster computing with a suite of disaggregated networking solutions – bringing radical performance capability and flexibility to systems running on industry standard hardware.
Ian Mellett, BIOS IT GM comments “Partnering with disruptive technology innovators like GigaIO ensures that BIOS IT can deliver the best in network performance, flexibility and efficiency to its HPC, FinTech and Cloud customers. We recognise the benefits that disaggregation affords our end users, including lower CapEx and OpEx through less hardware, higher utilisation of resources and less power consumption”.
The GIgaIO solution range, can unite a vast variety of resources, connecting GPUs, TPUs, FPGAs and SoCs to other compute elements or PCI endpoint devices, such as NVMe, PCIe native storage, and other I/O resources. Span multiple servers and multiple racks to scale up single-host systems and scale out multi-host systems, all unified via the GigaIO FabreX Switch.
Quote from Marc “ GigaIO FabreX technology solves the number one complaint in cluster computing: interconnect network performance. We are excited to bring our hyper-performance network solutions to market with renowned HPC experts BIOS IT, and in the process giving customers the flexibility to create exactly the system they need for optimized performance and reduced TCO.”
BIOS IT and GigaIO will exhibit at this year’s Supercomputing Conference (SC18), November 12th-November 15 on BIOS IT booth #638.
