GigaIO, a prominent provider of scalable AI inferencing infrastructure solutions, has successfully raised $21 million in the initial close of its Series B financing. Impact Venture Capital led this funding round. CerraCap Ventures, G Vision Capital, Mark IV Capital, and SourceCode Cerberus also participated in the investment. This funding accelerates the production of GigaIO’s SuperNODE and Gryf products.
The new capital enables GigaIO to expand its production capabilities for SuperNODE. This product offers a cost-effective and energy-efficient infrastructure for AI inferencing at scale. Furthermore, the company will accelerate the deployment of Gryf, a portable AI inferencing supercomputer. Gryf delivers datacenter-class computing power directly to the edge.
Accelerating AI Infrastructure Innovation
GigaIO plans to invest in new product development. This expands its technology offerings. The company also intends to grow its sales and marketing teams. This supports the increasing demand for vendor-agnostic AI infrastructure. GigaIO’s patented FabreX AI memory fabric architecture facilitates the dynamic composition of compute, GPU, storage, and networking resources. This unlocks performance and cost efficiencies.
The company’s platform frees customers from single-source AI chip dependencies. It supports GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD. It also works with new AI chips from innovators like Tenstorrent and d-Matrix. Competitors in the AI hardware space include Liqid, which also offers composable infrastructure solutions. Additionally, Groq focuses on high-speed AI inference with its LPU Inference Engine. Cerebras Systems similarly provides specialized AI hardware for rapid inference.
GigaIO aims to complete a second close of its Series B in the coming months. Rockefeller Capital Management’s Technology Investment Banking division advised GigaIO on this transaction.
