Suitcase data center performance, customizable modularity, and edge-to-core synchronization for defense, sports, media, energy, and research applications
GigaIO has launched Gryf, a portable AI supercomputer the size of a suitcase, designed for edge operations in industries such as defense, sports, media and energy.
Key Points:
- Gryf delivers data center performance in a portable form factor, with modular and scalable configurations of up to five units.
- The platform is already being adopted by government agencies and industries for real-time analytics in remote environments.
- Edge-to-core integration: Gryf synchronizes with the GigaIO SuperNODE core infrastructure, enabling business continuity even in intermittent connectivity conditions, ensuring a constant and secure data flow between edge and core.
- Multi-industry applications: From medical research to industrial manufacturing, Gryf enables local data processing in mission-critical environments, optimizing response times, safety and quality of real-time operational decisions.
Developed by GigaIO in collaboration with SourceCode, Gryf represents a step forward in portable AI computing. Weighing less than 25 kg and airworthy in size, Gryf integrates up to six swappable modules for CPU, GPU, storage and network. Each unit can be configured with AMD EPYC 7313 processors, up to four server-class GPUs and up to 246 TB of NVMe storage.
GigaIO’s FabreX structure allows up to five Gryf units to be connected in a “SWARM” configuration, achieving aggregate performance of 458 TFLOPS in FP32 and 3,665 TFLOPS in FP16. This architecture enables shared access to resources between units, optimizing processing for demanding workloads.
Designed for operations in harsh environments, Gryf is already used by the U.S. Department of Defense for tactical missions, ISR analysis and cybersecurity. In the sports industry, it enables real-time performance analysis directly on the field, improving training and preventing injuries. In the media field, Gryf accelerates the production and editing of high-resolution content on site, reducing post-production time.
In the energy sector too, Gryf facilitates real-time data processing in remote environments, such as offshore platforms and land exploration sites, improving safety and operational efficiency.
Gryf is available globally through the GigaIO partner network. For more technical details and configuration options, please visit the GigaIO official website.
With Gryf, GigaIO offers a powerful and portable solution for AI processing, adaptable to different operational needs in challenging environments.
